THE CHALLENGE

How does one communicate the hallmarks of a new series of soldering tips to the users? How does one transport the innovative systematic thinking behind them? How does one communicate technology leadership down to the smallest detail? Those were the questions that arose at the beginning of the RT Active Tip Campaign.

At SPS MARKETING we quickly realized that it takes more to solder than just a soldering iron. And to sell high end soldering tips, you need a lot more than a few strong messages, smart copy and impressive images.

THE SOLUTION

No compromises – especially not in the user experience.

The high level of precision, performance and power were briefly and memorably summarized under the claim “No Compromise.” 3D animations of all product series were impressively presented n videos, teasers and hotspot animations and paired with keywords. Users were able to use the Tip Finder to find, compare and order their exact RT soldering tip on the microsite or at the tradeshow. The entire information and decision-making process was UX-digitized from the start and presented in an optimized manner.

THE ONE MESSAGE PRINCIPLE – ACROSS ALL CHANNELS

The RT Active Tip Campaign has been live in seven languages since the summer of 2019. Besides the strategy and concept, it also included the complete roll-out of the integrated communication concept. The main platform is the campaign microsite weller-tools.com/nocompromise, which generates interest through videos, provides deeper interactive information through hotspot animation and guides users to the perfect soldering tip with the Tip Finder. Brochures, ads and banners as well as tradeshow communications at the Productronica 2019 completed the launch.
