Ongoing education: More successful with your own training culture

BLOG

Employer branding is one of SPS MARKETING's core competencies: we know the importance of employee development. But we also know that investing in this area not only improves skills and our own positioning, but also brings many other benefits. With the creation of a new position for the further training of our agency's employees, the management is taking clear steps in the course of growth processes to further strengthen the team so that it can develop its full potential.

SPS MARKETING attaches great importance to continuing education, which is why the agency has had its own team lead for education since the beginning of this year. After all, there is a lot of expertise in the agency that can be used as a valuable resource to drive projects forward. In order to establish this know-how and make it accessible to everyone, Clarissa Eibl has accepted the new challenge. As Digital Marketing Manager, she has been working on global B2B projects at SPS MARKETING since 2020 and focuses on developing holistic digital strategies for our clients: from search engine optimized websites to the development of complex campaign setups. She is an expert in visibility on the web and brings digital ecosystems together by carefully analyzing and arranging their individual building blocks.

Own training culture

She now also devotes herself to further training with care and creativity. She finds out what kind of training employees prefer and ensures that it meets the company's objectives and the employees' individual career goals. Based on the needs, she creates training programs that focus on different topics. "Learning Friday," which Clari launched some time ago, takes place once a month with external speakers and internal training by colleagues for colleagues. As recently as January, colleagues Norbert Schrangl and Peter Thavonat from the Design department passed on their knowledge of typography to the team in a theoretical and a practical part. Whether it's tools, marketing theories, soft skills or the expansion of digital competencies, "Learning Friday" is all about motivating and inspiring content - and valuable experience, as Clari lets us know:

„We have incredibly experienced and capable employees at our agency and thus an unimaginably large pool of existing knowledge. In everyday life, however, the transfer of this knowledge sometimes falls by the wayside. With the Learning Fridays, I want to make this knowledge available to our entire agency through internal training sessions, in which our colleagues can share their wealth of experience.“

Our B2B Experience Hub, which we launched in the fall of 2022, proves that sharing knowledge can also be exciting outside the team.  Via webinars, blog articles and podcasts, SPS MARKETING shares its many years of international B2B experience with international industrial companies and shows how successful lead generation works. The project also falls under the remit of the new team lead, as the exchange of experiences pays into our clear goal to which we are committed: "Forming B2B Futures" - moving industrial brands forward with concentrated know-how.

Continuous training

Establishing a training culture is important to ensure that employees acquire new skills and knowledge to keep their finger on the pulse. And so Clari is also co-organizing the next bootcamp hosted by the E3 Network, which will be hosted by SPS MARKETING in March. She will also be a speaker at the "Digital Sessions" on the Asana work management platform.

In addition, her new remit also includes responsibility for apprentices. Here, the bar is set high: SPS MARKETING was awarded by the WKO Upper Austria as a company with exemplary commitment to apprentice training. Until now, Tamara Grünzweil has taken care of this herself, but as CEO she is now focusing her capacities more on strategic goals. Even though training is a subject close to her heart. After all, she herself started at the agency as an apprentice in 2010 and has grown along with it through continuous training, finally joining the management team as a member in 2018.

Personalized training & development

Clari, who taught herself many of her digital marketing skills through self-study and who will be taking the apprentice trainer course at Wifi this year, has her work cut out for her:

„My personal goal as Teamlead Education is to support all our employees & apprentices in achieving their professional goals & dreams and to motivate them to continuously learn & grow. The promotion of individual skills and strengths is a major concern for me.“

For several weeks now, our entire motion department has been undergoing further 3D training in the Blender tool, colleagues have been taking part in design festivals and fairs, and the E3 bootcamps also regularly offer new input. The international agency network organizes lectures and workshops on various topics three to four times a year (this year still on project management and business development), most of which take place abroad and are regularly attended by colleagues from the agency.

Investing in further training is an investment in the future that brings far more than just an increase in one's own reputation and competitiveness. It is a sign of trust and appreciation for the employee, signaling a long-term commitment to the company that is wanted and desired.
